What makes the mod that popular?
KawaiiStacie’s Slice of Life mod has gained a massive following within The Sims 4 community for obvious reasons. Well, we know how the regular gameplay could get too bland, and tons of creative mods available are a reflection of that. The Slice of Life mod stands out since it brings a new level of realism into the game.
It’s all in the details. The creator has continuously been making relevant updates to the mod while adding new, much-requested features that make the usual gameplay even more exciting and realistic.
Still, what makes the Slice of Life mod so popular? What does it “fixes” in The Sims 4 gameplay? Here we summarized the features of this mod and what each one does to improve the usual The Sims 4 gameplay. But first, head over to the KawaiiStacie’s website if you need to download and install this mod.
Ten super useful things the Slife of Life mod changes
#1 Your Sims can get drunk
Sims do not get drunk – at least in the usual gameplay. The closest they get to being drunk is a special drink Moodlet that changes their emotion, and that’s it. We’ve got to admit that it somehow makes the gaming experience a little less exciting.
With the Slice of Life mod, you can finally get your Sims different types of drunk! Our cheeks turn red when we consume a little too much of alcoholic beverages, so it’s only rational that our Sims get to experience that, too, right? And if they knock back a drink? Oh, your Sims could expect some consequences!
Recent updates to the Slice of Life mod includes added animations to the drunk system. There are also additional Moodlets and buffs when Sims are sobering up.
#2 It brings more realistic reactions and emotions to your Sims
The reactions and emotions in The Sims 4 are… okay. But that’s the thing. It’s just okay, and it could be a lot better. Thanks to Slice of Life, our Sims can show a range of reactions to various scenarios. They get teary-eyed when sad or turn red every time they feel flirty, embarrassed, drunk, or about to throw up. The mod also adds new emotions into the game, such as humiliated, pumped, miserable, imaginative, fearless, silly, furious, sleepy, excited, depressed, stressed, passionate, and in the zone.
#3 Changes in your Sims’ appearances are more true to life
One of the most amazing features of the Slice of Life mod is the appearance changes. Sims losing a fight would have a bruised face. They can also get cuts and bandages when injured. Doing dirty work would result in dirty hands. Those are
Another is that children will be able to lose their two front teeth! When that happens, expect your child Sims with a tooth gap. Teenager Sims, on the other hand, can get pimples from acne. The good news is that your Sims can do skincare to prevent it! They can do skin treatments and persuade other Sims to do the same.
#4 It introduces a Memory System
The Slice of Life mod update introduces a Memory System for your Sims. What does it do? It enables your Sims to recall memories that happen in their lifetime. Yes, some of these memories will eventually fade, but your Sims will be able to make new ones.
They will remember significant and vital events, such as first kisses, weddings, having children, cheating, divorces, deaths, breakups, and more. Since they will have such memories, there will also be some nice nostalgic buffs to the gameplay.
#5 The Sickness System is much better and realistic
Sims can get ill in the regular Sims 4 gameplay, but the Slice of Life mod update makes sick Sims more relatable and the sickness more true to life. With this mod, your Sims can have headaches and catch illnesses such as colds, flu, stomach bugs, and WTD infection. They can pass such sicknesses even to non-playable Sims.
Your Sim can go to a doctor alone or with a family member whenever it is not feeling well. A recent update also adds a new social interaction that sends sick Sims home or to the hospital for treatment. Though you have to introduce yourself first to be able to do this.
Now you may be thinking if these illnesses can be prevented? The answer is yes. Just like in real life, your Sims can get a vaccination, which the kids will probably not like! There may also side effects, so watch out.
#6 Female Sims will have their periods
This popular mod by KawaiiStacie introduces a Menstrual System for your female Sims. In real life, women get their monthly visits AKA period, Shark Week, Aunt Flo, and whatnot! Thus, it’s only fair that female Sims between teens to adults have theirs, too, for better and more realistic gameplay experience.
Enabling the Menstrual System will let you know when your Sims are about to have their periods. In the game, each cycle lasts for two days and happens every 12 days.
#7 You have different personality options for your Sims
With the introduction of the Personality System, your Sims can have 16 different personality types based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. You can choose between the varied options or let the game randomly pick one for your Sim.
Now the question is this: How does the Personality System “fixes” the game? It actually plays a vital part in the gameplay as your Sim’s personality and traits would significantly affect its day-to-day life aspects. It influences your Sim’s social life, emotions, skills, career, motives, autonomy, hobbies, and activities.
#8 Your Sims can have better smartphones
Truly an exciting and fun gameplay upgrade is the introduction of new phone features in the game. The social media function of smartphones are already a good thing, but what makes this mod even much better is the useful phone apps that help build up different types of skill for your Sims. Examples of these apps are the Fishing Simulator, Mall Tycoon, My First Language, Let’s Draw, Love Tester, and Homework Helper.
With the Smartphone System, your Sims can post on social media, send text messages to other Sims, and receive text messages as well.
#9 It presents more WooHoo options
The Slice of Life mod gives Sims more WooHoo options than the typical ones in the base game. Enabling this mod will add the following options: Self WooHoo, Drunk WooHoo, and Drunk Risky WooHoo. Your Sims can also have random or autonomous Woohoos or risky hookups with a Sim they’ve just met. Not a fan of this feature? You can easily remove the autonomous hookup or random hookups package from your folder.
#10 Sims become more aware of their bodies
This mod makes Sims more aware of their body types. Your Sim can quickly become insecure about its body, but that can be changed with a confidence boost in the mirror or a simple compliment. The Slice of Life mod also enables you to check your Sim’s body measurements.
A recent update made impressive improvements in the gameplay. Your Sims will not throw up anymore whenever they hate their bodies. Plus, a Sim that’s confident, flirty, or happy won’t randomly bash other Sims because of their body type.
