Detectives, Law, Police Officers, and More
Before we get into all the great things about being a detective in the Sims 4 game, there are a few things we should keep in mind.Â
What we consider to be a detective used to be the law enforcement career in The Sims, The Sims 2, and The Sims 3. Meaning, if you used to play the older base games, this might be a new aspect to you.
The Sims 4: Get to Work
If you’d like your Sims to become a detective, you’ll need The Sims 4: Get to Work expansion pack. With this addition, you’ll get three new career paths, a detective being one of them.Â
If you’re looking for a way to spend more time with your Sim, this is the right path for you. This is one of the careers that let you follow the Sim to work.Â
Being a Detective in The Sims 4
Let’s take a look at all the main aspects that come with this line of work for your Sim.
Training
Your Sim will have to go through specific training to work as a detective. This will last for two days.Â
On the first day, your Sim will learn from the older detectives and discuss their old cases. They will take witness reports, learn more about evidence, and also learn the magic of taking mugshots. Sounds awesome, right?Â
On the second day, your aspiring detective might even go on their own case and try to arrest someone!
Working as a Detective in The Sims 4
Once your Sim is done with the training, they will officially become a detective! They will have a chance to analyse evidence, read reports and cases, add things to the crime map, and simply try to catch the bad guys!
If you choose to follow the Sim to work, you’ll definitely enjoy the experience of being a true detective in the game.
Career Levels and Items
As your Sim gets promoted, they will learn additional tricks and gain cool new items. For example, how about a one-way mirror or a decorative security camera? This might be some interesting interior design!
Also, your detective Sim can even teach teens a good lesson by putting them in overalls for prisoners if their grades are quite bad. Just don’t do this too often, or they might get very angry at you! Everything should be in moderation.
Make the Game Easier
If The Sims 4: Get to Work gets too complicated, you can always try various cheats!
For example, you can use careers.promote detective to make the daily work life easier for your Sim. Of course, there are many more cheats you can try, and you can check them out here.
Just don’t forget to enable cheats in your game. You can do that quite easily through the command console box that you trigger by holding down three buttons on your keyboard: SHIFT + CTRL + C.
Have fun in the detective career, and follow your Sims to work to learn more!
