Expansion Pack 4: The Sims 3 Generations
We all know the next Expansion Pack for The Sims 3 is due any day, so here is a small description. "With Generations, Sims of every age can enjoy new activities! Kids can hang out with friends in tree houses. Teens can pull hilarious pranks. Adults can suffer midlife crises. And so much more!" Discuss fellow Simmers.

Of course, this is very little information, but I'm kind of excited, though disappointed it isn't seasons, sounds like we'll have a ton of new interactions!

I was hoping that it wasn't going to be the next EP, but now it is.
Well, at least there's the next EP after, that, right? It's just too long to wait. D:

Re: Expansion Pack 4: The Sims 3 Generations
This sounds as boring as hell. We've wised up to EAs tactics and have taken The Sims 3 off our PC and it is staying off with no more bought until both Pets and Weather are brought out. They know full well that the top 2 wishes of the majority of fans is for Pets and/or weather and yet they trot out this rubbish! They have treated us like gormless idiots and we have fallen for it... well no more!

Re: Expansion Pack 4: The Sims 3 Generations
I guess since the last EP focused on singles and partying it up at night, now they're going to focus on families. I do think tree houses and pranks sound kind of neat, although isn't a mid-life crisis thing already in the game where you can just change your sim's traits? I don't know, I sort of like the idea of each life stage having more to do, but I can't really see how they're going to turn it into an entire EP. I guess I can still pray that they added things for each age group to do for each season although that sounds really unlikely.

Ugh. So that rumor is true. What's your source? And this MAY be a good EP.

Think of it this way -- by far, the most popular EPs for TS2 were Pets and Seasons. If EA made those first, many people would buy them and then, being satisfied, would not buy any more EPs. By saving them 'til last or later, a lot of customers will buy whatever EP comes out even though it's not their first choice, because they want to buy something. I really wanted/want Seasons. Don't know if I'll buy this one yet, and the only one of the first three I've bought so far is Late Night. WA and Ambitions just didn't appeal to me.

No, just it's reserved but it doesn't mean they will do it.
In The Sims 2 game, EP10 was reserved but we know they won't do TS2 EP10 now.

Re: Expansion Pack 4: The Sims 3 Generations
Honestly, I am definitely NOT IMPRESSED by the announcement.
It definitely sounds like a money-sucker. Why do I care if my teens can now play pranks? What difference would a treehouse make to my kids' lives in the game? And we already have a mid-life crisis reward! The only way that I will buy this on the release date is if they include a carnival or seasons along with tons of things to do for the children and teens.
Right now I am very skeptical and I am ready to jump on the "EA is ripping us off hardcore" bandwagon because I strongly feel that aseasons EP or a Uni EP would've been the logical step in the right direction when it came down to this franchise's quality.

Re: Expansion Pack 4: The Sims 3 Generations
You know, I am skeptical. There is a possibility of some REALLY good features in this EP, some brand new stuff. But with the given information, it almost sounds like a Stuff Pack

Actually I am not inclined to buy more EPs while waiting for Seasons. I am much more likely to get bored of the game and forget about it. That might have worked on me when I was younger (during The Sims 2's time) however now I have to have a specific reason for buying an EP. I don't just buy them because they're EPs anymore.

Re: Expansion Pack 4: The Sims 3 Generations
Guys, we hardly know anything about this EP yet, I think you're all being a tad quick to judge. I'd give it til we actually know more than three things about the expansion pack to decide whether you like it or not. I feel like everyone is taking out their annoyance that it isn't seasons and saying anything that isn't seasons is terrible.

I am, personally, saying that anything that isn't Seasons isn't what I want. Sure, maybe other people will like this EP because it adds interactions but I don't see how the concept of it could be expanded to the point of warranting a purchase from me.

These are just my first impressions and although we don't have a lot to judge from; I'm not holding my breath for this one. My position actually surprises me because I am usually the one who fills my first impressions with optimism about the next EP.
