I honestly don't play video games enough. I obviously love sims but apart from that I play mostly "retro" games (basically gamecube and playstation 2!) i've also started to get back into Pokémon again, which I used to lurrrrve.

You guys have any favourites that were made before a couple years ago? lol

When they talk about favourites, they mean all time favourites. To me some of the current games coming out now are absolute

I'm thinking that he was referring to the inverse which is that most of us DON'T have a favorite game from more than a couple years ago. Not to brag, but I was a hand at Little Howie's Tuneland!

My faves are:

The Sims Series
Portal
Mario Kart (Wii)
Midtown Madness 2- an old predecessor to GTA; less violent, but still fun!
Age of Mythology- Like Age of Empires, but way easier, and with Pegasi.
Toontown- kept me busy for ages as a little one

Indeed, most of my favourites were made before the 2000s, I have a lot from this decade as well though.

Now you may not have heard about this game because it was made quite a long time ago but that game was called Pong as in:

5) Original Mario. Yeah I mean back on the old system. '80's style. I grew up playing that. I never did beat it before my parents sold the system. I always had my brother in law beat Bowser for me. XD

Well... there's a pretty clear indication there that I tend to play simulation games a lot.
Although the only reason I've been playing AC lately is because of my new computer, when I play it I go "Oh mah gawd" and marvel at the shiny graphics.
Reason? My laptop stuggles to play TS2. On low graphics.
