That is the question with Spore


I am thinking either EA store or Direct2Drive.

Now...

I was hoping someone would know

does either of these sites have a charge for holding onto it for a certain number of years?
and if so, how many years?


Also, do I have to be online in order to start up the game?

Direct2drive-never because they use their own set of patches, etc.

Ea uses the ea manager and I hear privacy issues. And they tie it to your pc.
But ea is not that bad if there's a word. I know people that uses it like my sister but she had problems off and on with it because you have to be online to keep the going, etc.
They are like steam (best online download buying program) but they have problems too but most of their games are online so it's fine ;D

They don't charge like renting. But to use the game they have to do an internet check every so often to make sure and update the manager program with your info, etc. so if for a week you have no net when it does it's checking (nobody knows the times or when) then you have to go through support.
D2d is the worst of them all. So yes you have to be online because you login to the manager and the login process goes online to see if you are the owner, etc. Hard to explain

Just save trouble and buy the game so you have the disc and everything. Must less trouble.

How will ur mom know. It will be placed on the comp anyway. Just hide the disc case somewhere, maybe the bin. When you finish playing take the disc out and keep it with you !

Either way if you install your mum will notice it because the start menu will be another color and it places it inside of the desktop as well as the games explorer. That's for everything. Ea manager and d2d. Same with steam basically any program that does that. But if you use a download buy manager you can't hide it because you don't want to delete it. Instead get the disc and hide it like flip typed and delete the menus. Stick the disc in and click autoplay and take it out when done. Saves trouble in the long run. Because if you use a manager and you mum decides to delete the icon, that could be trouble.
