The file you downloaded. Was it a zip, rar, .package, .sims2skin or .sims2pack. Once we know this we can understand the problem. It's best to use sims2installer because it places the files where it needs to go without you doing anything but clicking the ones you want to appear in game and click install. Content installer has problems and file extension a lot and most people "drags" their file into the installer then installs. Do you have uni? If so try using the Uni Custom Content Installer not the sims 2 CC installer because it might not understand it.

I took a screen shot of what it tells me.

It gives me that window everytime I double click, or click on the file.

AHH! I'm going insane! lol
I've figured out how to get the clothes to show up in bodyshop, but they wont show up in the game! And, all my custom sims are gone. So the stuff I make in bodyshop, doesn't show up in my game anymore.
**throws TS2 out the window**

Some players said you must copy the file into the dir while others say you can make a shortcut as long as the folder has all right permssion.
that made it sound so easy.. unless I got the problem that I CAN'T FIND the music folder I have a folder called "sounds" but that's just packages.rar
help?????

Your not looking in my documents folder. Paste what he typed into the run box and it will go to your documents folder where the game is isntalled at.
There is no folder called "sounds" in ea games under my docs only in the dir where you installed the game. That's the default and you don't do anything there UNLESS it says to.

There you go it goes right to it. Don't have to create it or anything :)
Unless you did something wrong or the install messed it up. If you look in your startmenu under sims (any pack or not) open up the readme and search for Music and it will explain exactly what to do.

File maid? what's that? It depends on the job. If it replaces the original one, If you need an "object" to see it, or a good one that can be used anywhere. if it's that one then d/l folder. Remember uni majors requires something (object) to see the major so put the uni major "after" that object like if the uni major is A you have to rename it to the letter after the object.

Okay. I have a zip file (a sim), and I have no clue HOW to unzip it. I've tried multiple things, but none of them have it show up in the game or bodyshop... Am I being stupid, is it just me, or do I have a problem?
BTW, I have Vista....

BTW, I have Vista.... Unzip it then extract the file to the desktop, if it's a sims2pack, click it and it's open up, press install of what it is and then OK and you've installed it into the game.
