Good call! That's what I will do, too. I usually either buy it on release day or not at all... I didn't even think of waiting for a sale!

Re: The Sims 3: Showtime Announced!!!
eugh. I don't know if I want this. I definatley don't want the social features, Simport will only be useful to me if rewards were in game items (like sharing memories, I did that purley for the objects), I don't really give two flying squirrels about earning 'a badge' which does nothing. I don't know if I really want these directed careers either, it's sort of like an add on to what ambitions did, but glossed over with a late night theme. Ergo, I have both of these.... why would I want a combined version? It's not as if I use any of the features from ambitions anyway, and very little from late night.
On the other side of the argument, I want the new objects (minus the 'stage' dressing stuff), I mean I saw a video with a mechanical bull, and I'd also quite like to see sims performing low key stuff on the streets of my game (like the statue, fire dancer and break dancer from TS2 - I used to always use these on community lots, to make it seem more 'alive') I also want the new town which looks really nice.
Well, Seasons better be next. And I'm ready for Showtime to come out so we can start expecting leaks of Seasons.
Showtime is just a roadblock. lol

Re: The Sims 3: Showtime Announced!!!
I agree... I may or may not be asking for showtime as an early birthday gift lol. If I wasn't doing that, I probably wouldn't get showtime at all unless it was on sale. I do like the new traits, the new objects, and some of the new clothes but I definitely feel like this should have been included in LN which would probably make it a 2-disc EP which is cool. I'm not too keen on the social features because I hardly have any friends that play TS3. And if they do, they have a Mac and I can only imagine that PC and Macs probably won't be connecting online.
I want Seasons to be next because it's overdue. But I'm also hoping that there will be room in the franchise for a university and OFB-type EPs.

Re: The Sims 3: Showtime Announced!!!
Well, I went ahead and preordered the Katy Perry edition of the game (it was sixty freaking dollars!) It's released in Australia on Thursday and I'm having it delivered because I'm too lazy to go and buy it in store, so hopefully it will arrive Friday, otherwise I'll be stuck waiting until Monday.
I'm actually kind of looking forward to the expansion pack - mostly for the objects that are returning from past games like the pool table, DJ booth and giant spinny machine.
[edit] Oh, okay, I got got an email saying it's been shipped, with 1-2 days delivery. I might be getting a day before it's actually released then!

Goddammit, I said I was going to wait for it to go on sale but I might break down and buy it tomorrow. I don't think I'll be incredibly interested in the overall aspect of the game but my sims want their pool table back!!

I remember back in the days of World Adventures, I was hoarding screenshots, info and videos like anything. I think I even had a countdown thing going on my calendar... But for these latest ones I haven't really paying much attention and one minute they're already released and I know barely anything about them.

And I'm excited - not for Showtime, because I'm not getting it, but for the fact that we'll soon get to learn about the next Expansion Pack which better be Seasons.

x2. I actually stopped being excited about these EP's after Generations was released. Generations... What a fucking waste of time and resources.
If Seasons isn't next.... I don't even know what I'd do. Lose more hope for this franchise?

Im also excited for the next EP! finally this shitpack is out!! hopefully next EP is either Seasons or University...
i have watched some Let's Play on Youtube, and it looks like a mix of Late Night and Ambitions....
I'm estatic for this EP, and went and bought it today at Target and got a 10 dollar gift card to throw towards MSS or FLS.
I have to say, I'm more excited ST is out to hear what the next EP is. It *BETTER* be seasons. I'm sorry but this series sucked and they need to come correct with this one.
ST is gonna add alot of new and exciting gameplay unseen in this format before in the Sims 3. I hate the new social crap, but I can't change that and I'm not about to stop Simming over it.
I'm with many of you about how I feel on EA- Sims 3 but at the same time what can we do?
hoping and praying 4 will be "The Sims" game to end all Sims games.

Re: The Sims 3: Showtime Announced!!!
I'm not seeing what's so 'new and exciting' about SHT, nor am I seeing what's 'never before been seen'. It's Late Night pt. 2. Everything it added should have been in Late Night.

Re: The Sims 3: Showtime Announced!!!
I'm not proud of this, but I bought Showtime yesterday. I like the new world and there are actually some decent new hairs. Most of the clothes are kind of blah. I created a new sim and had her join the Singing career and so far it's pretty fun, although it just feels like a new profession in Ambitions. I don't regret my decision... so far... does anyone else have some first impressions to share?
