Post Apartments
Just to let you guys know that apartments have been conformed by SimGuruBritt on the official forums. Here's the link for people to check it out http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/634123.page. Sounds like it might even be in the university update for free considering it is a small home world advantage.

So happy I could cry.

Also. Anyone else see a Friends-style house/apartment building popping up in the future?

I just hope it means multiple families can live on one lot. Giving me plenty of space in the town again.

Let me guess, it's just the dorms in the normal hood? Yes.

I guess this means we're not getting an option to have four households live on one lot like The Sims 2 Apartment Life.

I am not sure if it will update the current apartment set up. Are they currently their own type of lot? Because I imagine that residential will be getting their own sub categories like community lots have.

What?! Where does it say that. I got the impression that University added a new town, and that we would also be able to add apartments to the towns we already have

From the Sims 3 University Life info page:

"Explore the Campus and Town.
From striking out at the bowling alley to flirting with the barista at the Roasted Toasted Beans to browsing comic books at the Keith’s Komics, there’s a whole new town and campus full of places to explore. "

There's a whole new town can also apply to sub-reddits too and it's a sub-neighborhood. Watch that video where they show off some of the gameplay and you'd see a new icon at the top left.

Do you mean a sub-neighbourhood kinda like with the WA worlds?
That's what I was thinking, I thought swatme was meaning that the dorms just got plonked in the towns we have now. And that there wouldn't be a Uni subhood.

Very excited for this expansion btw :) I can't wait to send my sims to Uni

I assume it's just the dorm lot for the main world, but when you goto make a lot residential or community. There should be a new option under residential that reads apartment.

That's exactly how it works. Make sure you have enough flats for the roommates that will turn up though or you might find yourself overcrowded.

Disappointed you cannot move 4 households onto one lot like in The Sims 2 Apartment Life.
I hope they add this feature in the upcoming two expansions.

So you can only have one family on the apartment lot, what's the point in that :wha: I wanted to make semi-detached houses, I hate the LN EP where you have black wasted space, what a disappointment!!! :stab:

The black empty spaces could have served a better use to be honest. Perhaps in a reformed rabbit hole system. I realize I used this example before, but for example, opening up a school to where only the classrooms themselves is blacked out and the rabbit hole. But seeing how they actually did lectures in University Life makes me wonder if they couldn't do the same for the primary school in the main world.

Still, I have no idea why Maxis didn't include the old system in the new game. Unless there is something I've yet to discover.
