Well, if the purpose of Imaginay friends is to turn them into regular sims then...fuck this EP

That isn't the purpose. Most simlike creatures can be turned into a real sim at some time during their lives (vampires and mummies) and I am sure they (EA) just want to give people a chance to play as the Imaginary friend that their sim has had for most of their life.

Now what I am wondering is if you don't age up your imaginary friend to teen and you gift the doll to your sim's child will they have the same imaginary friend as your sim or a different one.

Also to whomever said that YA's will definately be able to see IF, teens will be able to use the chem set so they could make them real before they got to the the YA life stage.

the IGN interview says that every baby/toddler will come with a doll in their inventory which if they interact enough with it will become an imaginary friend. so.. i'm not sure if its gift-able or not.

Quote:
All babies will automatically come with a toy doll in their inventory, and if the child plays with the toy enough, it will turn into an imaginary friend that only that Sim will see.

Found it

I heard somthing about the plumbob being a lightbulb or somthing. Maybe that will carry over to the sim version of them (when they turn human)

Idk, I still really don't want to pay 40 dollars for this ep. It doesn't feel like 40 dollars worth of new stuff.

The things that I will use are for children only really, besides the wedding stuff/chemistry set.
I doubt high school graduation will be much fun, and prom is probably going to be a rabbit hole. The new parties are probably not going to function much differently than the ones we already have.
pranks will definitely get boring quick...
No neighborhood.
Idk just felt like being a debbie downer.

Been stalking this forum for a few days now (after years of not coming on snootys...generations has brought me back!) im actually excited for this, none of the other EP's appealed to me, Ive only bought ambitions and got over it in a month or so - I like to focus on my family and i think this EP's new features encourages family focus gameplay :)

LOL Welcome back

I'm pretty excited about this EP too. I just feel like the family-aspect life needs to be enhanced with more interactions between family members. I'm really glad they added a lot of elements to children and teenagers.

While I wouldn't say I'm excited, per se, for this EP, I am looking forward to it because family interactions are my favorite parts of the Sims games. But why did they have to make the imaginary friend so CREEPY???

Yes apparently even after it becomes real it can tranform back into puppet form at will.

I agree!! My first initial thought was....god they look creepy!! But as I look at it more and more, they are starting to remind me of the Teletubbies lol. This brings me some comfort lol

I'm still going through all the content, but what has wowed me so far is this:
Quote:
Videos are stored on memory cards which can be extracted and carried and played on almost any TV screen your Sim comes across. Sims in the area will respond to the video being played just as though they were witnessing the event happen, which is crazy impressive!

That's really cool! And a lot better than what I thought it would be :)

I'm also so sososososooooo happy that catalog filter is coming back. That will be SO useful.

The imaginary friends look really funny, lol. I expected them to look less annie doll and less robotish at the same time.

OMG YOU CAN TAKE A DRIVING CLASS HOLY SHIT!

^Not a driving class, but driving with a parent, and I think I read you need to reach like three levels of "driving skills" until you can drive on your own

is that why the cars went so slow? I noticed they were going like 10km an hour. I figured you might be able to change speed?
