Today my simself and his fiancie celebrated the 4th of July together in the park and at the pool in Twinbrooks. Before you ask I started a new game and moved them in together as girl and boyfriend. He proposed to her and now their getting married. Anyway they spent the 4th together.

First the van. I customized all this stuff even the park.

This is probably a stupid question sorry, but why do Americans celebrate the 4th of July?

It's their independence day.

It isnt' stupid, I didn't really know either. We're British, we don't need to know. :P

It is the day the United States became independent from Great Britain.

I wish we celebrated the 4th of july in england.. but that wouldn't really make sense.

I was on an american exchange, and they were over here for the fourth of july and the 'celebration' was just sitting in some shoddy hall with a cheap buffet.. I felt really sorry for them :/

Chaz I think it's cause of the top hat he's wearing but red white and blue is very patriotic. I might have got them a little bright thou. Prehaps I should have used a slightly darker tone. I tried to make him look like he wearing an uncle sam outfit. That's why I colored the hat and pants that way.

It's like American's have thanksgiving to celebrate as well.
We need more special days!

Well the 4th of July is also celebrated as kind of the kickoff to summer as well. Usually the hot weather starts in July for most of the country so people are outside, BBQing, boating, drinking, etc. It's just a big celebration of summer if you take the Independence day part of out it.

I asked my exchange partner why they celebrate thanksgiving - she didn't even know, but its something to do with native americans right? (Offtopic: I LOVE native american culture and history stuff, and the music :)

In a nutshell, yes. See the first colonists here had a really bad time. And the Native Americans showed them how to plant crops and all that jazz. And they shared food with them and such and they ended up having a really big feast which is Thanksgiving. Or least that's what I saw on Tv about it on the history channel or something XD
