What was MAXIS THINKING?!!?!?

My guess is that throughout the development process, they changed all the IDs for sim voices and gender, causing old codes to screw up and switch.

I have resurrected them all, and I can give you a list of the ones who are safe to resurrect.

What exactly defines "Not Safe..."

They have corrupted DNA that eventually leads to the destruction of the neighborhood. If you change any of these sim's faces in the mirror, they will either get another face, or their face will become a disgusting mass of pixels. Some of them don't have ages either, and that can't be good for the game.

Holly CRAP! I just opened the first Sim in the Sim Files for Strangertown. His name is Matthew Gibson, and i found these images in his file:



I've never seen ANY other sim with this many files in their .package. I think the rest are normal. This is really weird!

...wait. I lied. I found some of these files in other character's files too.

Ok, it may take about an hour because I have to reset my neighborhoods.

Gosh.. i wish someone could hack into EA's mainframe and get the pre-beta, original Sims 2 and Sims 3 files. It'd be SO fun to explore the bugs :D

I have no idea why they come back bald, but I think it had something to do with changing the IDs just like you said.

Also, if you age any of these sims to elder, they get the social bunny head!

Also, could you tell me the names of the Sims who have TS1 style pics in their files? This could be interesting...

Anyway, back on topic about unused accessories, if you look closley at the picture posted on this thread, you can see all the unused hairs in CAS! Including the beehive!

They may just be NPC's, but they have A LOT of files in their package. Here are a few:

Mathew Gibson (Usr. 000)
Andrew Gonzaga (Usr. 002)
Genesis Lam (Usr. 019) (Shes a maid and she has TS1 Maid Icons)
Aiyana Dallas (Usr. 020) (Same situation as above)
Xavier Hurt (Usr. 021) (Same, but is a male)
Daisy Wheeler (Usr. 022)
Scot McCullough (Usr. 023)
Ben Haggerty (Usr. 24)

There are many more, but looking at the users above, they all seem to be NPCs of some sort. Maybe that is something that NPCs have for unknown reasons. All the images were the same male african, except for the marked maid users.
Come to think of it.. these people may not even be in your game, since NPCs are randomly generated. But i may be wrong, since i haven't played strangetown in this neighborhood file.

You may also want to look into the sims with only 40-20 KB in their file. I believe these are the meshless bodyless DNAless sims?

P.S., why are there like 2 or 3 'Nervous Subject's?

You know, after looking at all these character files, i believe that MAXIS found out that the game was too big and decided to cut down on some of the size by removing nesisarry DNA and SHPE files from the deceased Sims, not yet having any resurrection ideas yet and just keeping them intact enough to have family ties. Thats my idea.

Nope, the NPCs are never randomly generated, and are always the same for Strangetown and Veronaville. Custom Neighborhoods get Goopy and his friends from Pleasantview.

So most of the NPCs from Strangetown have that guy in their files... is it in Veronaville too? Because that was created before Strangetown.

There are 2 Nervous Subjects, the dead one is the one in Olive's memories. I believe they used the dead Nervous to impregnate Olive with ugly "Grim"'s genes to make the real Nervous. The same case with Skip Broke, Darleen Dreamer and Michael Bachelor.

Back on the topic of unused accessories, I managed to get Nighat Caliente's outfit into my game.


Its pretty boring really, its just a white version of a shirt already in the game.

And look at this old trailer carefully when the bit about creating your sims comes on, and EVERY hairstyle seen in CAS is not in the game! (Yes including the beehive)

Yeah, i think you pointed or someone pointed that out in another thread. Thats funny of Maxis to create a UI trailer before the UI is done. Well, technically they made like 3. But TS3 never did that. There was no UI until almost may.

You know what i also just noticed?? They didn't use the blur when shes in the bathtub!

Wanna know the irony? I resurrected them too last night. xD Obvz I gave them all face lifts and make overs and they look better now, but they're all Downtownies and are NOT gonna be making babies with anyone.

Also, just a note, but Dustin Broke and Johnny Smith's hairstyles are more golden in the BETA... And so are alot more... Maybe there were more hair colour choices? If you recover the hairstyles and clothes, upload them ASAP!
