Yeah, I think I spent an hour or more browsing the mod forum. Good fun! I agree, it all feels complete now. :spin: *back to secretive mode*

So curious Shadowsim... You're always wanting... Now you see how I felt about not knowing your name. It burns doesn't it? :P
Eh, now I've got Girls ALoud 'The Show' lyrics in my head...

Eh, lots of people get really defensive when you tell them they're doing something wrong. Since you're a mod, telling them they're doing something wrong is pretty much your job, so don't take it to heart.

I didn't. I thought it was hillarious! Brat! :bouncy:

Well I can assure you this isn't a rare thing, I mean didn't you notice all the personal attacks I got from Gareth for telling him off? =P

And about the mod forum isn't that "OMG Wow cool!" it's just an easier way of us communicating to other mods about issues like a certain thread needs to be locked, or who should become the next mod ect it's much easier to communicate that way rather than pm. If you really want a secret board protest for a usergroup or something xD

I think it's best to just have people where they're interested in going. For you, it's easy to look over everything because you read everything on the forum. For me, I currently do not have any interest in the Sims...making a large portion of this forum uh, not interesting. And it'd be hard to mod and check out posts of a topic I don't really care for, NOW WOULDN'T IT?

And nærd, getting the mod title doesn't really make people listen to you! I've been a mod for three years and I don't think anyone really notices or listens to me anymore, if they ever did in the first place! XD

But what difference would it make if you could mod those forums? I don't think it'd necessarily mean you'd have to assuming Snooty knows where your speciality is and is okay with that. It just seems odd to me that people who are already moderators would be restricted from certain forums unless they were actually some kind of threat to them. I wouldn't see the harm in you having mod powers in the TS2 sections even if you never went there, in case... I don't know, there was some kind of TS2 spampocalypse which no-one else was around to stop and even then, as Snooty's aware you ignore the TS2 sections, it's not like an obligation. And I've noticed other mods that are regulars in certain sections but can't mod there, instead having to post about it in the mod forum and wait for someone else or something like that, which really does strike me as pointless. Is there some kind of downside I'm missing? All I can think of is members PM-ing you over things you don't want to have anything to do with, which seems a pretty minor issue unless member PMs are a lot more frequent than I've assumed.

If it does bother you for whatever reason, fair enough, but I still don't see why mods aren't global mods by default unless they specifically request otherwise.

so the mod forum shows up like any other forum?

could you at least say how often it's posted in!

also on another note do you know what forums you're moderating?

Yep. Directly beneath Forum & Site Discussions, a new section shows ("Staff area") with one forum within ("Moderator hangout"). The contents of which may remain deeply mysterious to you all.

Probably, yes. It's slightly more active than The Sims 2 On Consoles. So basically, it's not that active unless there's something significant going on.

Your guess is as good as mine.

Well we can't realy make you a mod just because you want to see lots of new posts consisting of "this thread needs to be locked lol lol lol" you have to earn it, no more post pumping for you =P
If you really want access to a secret board can I suggest you start a thread for a usergroup and come up with ideas for it?

A usergroup is pretty much the same as the moderator hangout however anyone can join (unless there's a requirement like 400 posts and having to be a member for 4 months ect). Also the discussion in it is usually different from boards that already exist. Examples of usergroups can include:

* A Spore fan club.
* A board for regular members to talk about past events, engage in group activities and obtain exclusive features.
* A place where members can sort out arguments that may have been locked in the main boards and try to solve issues they have with one another.

Just to name a few.
